During his official presentation as a Pumas player, Aaron Ramsey admitted that much of what he learned about his new club came from the internet.
"First, I had to get the OK from my wife⊠I spoke with a few people. But over the last two weeks, Iâve had conversations with the club staff, and then I turned to Google, some YouTube, and stuff like that to learn more about the club," Ramsey said with a smile.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who previously played for Arsenal, Juventus, and most recently in Englandâs second division, is making history as the first Welsh footballer to play in Liga MX. Despite the unconventional path, Ramsey spoke highly of the Mexican league and expressed enthusiasm about the challenge ahead.
âI think it's an exciting league, with quality players and competitive teams. Iâm really looking forward to experiencing it firsthand,â he said.

Ramsey also won over some Pumas supporters with his remarks about the club's tradition and fanbase.
"I know the fans are incredibly passionate. I know this is a club with a successful history and one of the biggest teams in Mexico. I'm excited to be a part of it," he explained.
With this move, the former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder becomes the first Welsh player to compete in Liga MX. Prior to joining Pumas, Ramsey played for Cardiff City, where he made 24 appearances and scored three goals.

The signing sparked some debate in the Mexican media, particularly because of Ramsey's age and his recent stint in a second-tier English club. However, Pumas head coach EfraĂn JuĂĄrez addressed the skepticism directly.
âThereâs been a lot of speculation, but the reality is he didnât come here for money – weâre Pumas, and we donât work with big budgets. He came because he believes in the project, heâs excited about it, and he wants to have a strong year to help his national team qualify for the World Cup,â said JuĂĄrez.
AFPWHAT NEXT FOR RAMSEY AND PUMAS?
Pumas are set to play a friendly this Sunday against Spanish side Leganés, where Ramsey might be formally introduced to the home crowd. However, having just started training, there is still no timeline for his official debut in Liga MX.
"I hope to be on the field soon and help my teammates. I donât have a set date, but Iâm getting close to where I want to be. I feel good, and weâll take it step by step," Ramsey said during the press conference.
